Ben Nevis is the highest mountain on the British Isles at 4409 feet, 1344m. Nowadays as weather patterns may have changed and walkers and climbers need to be ever more vigilant. The weather can be just as severe now as it was then, but with a lot less certainty. A sunny day in June can quickly turn to give blizzards on the summit. Torridon and Kinlochewe Mountain Rescue Team. Bealach na Ba, rigging and crag snatch. Training this month for Torridon MRT took place at the Bealach na Ba, Applecross. 11 hardy souls from the team ventured out, to be welcomed by a spirited May wind and rain. Firstly we all familiarised ourselves in the use of the Petzl iD to abseil down the face and to use the device for ascending the climb. A great days training in challenging conditions.
